I love to do a house visit!!! Its a great way to capture kids in their own home environment! They are comfortable, relaxed and its always nice to get an image of them in their childhood room. Then we go outside for some of the family with a natural background. I photographed Lori and JR's wedding and have been doing their family portrait since they only had one little guy ;) It makes me feel good to continue seeing their family grow and be part of capturing these images for them! Thank you for your continued support in my growing business, it means more than you know!!!

When you meet Krysten for the first time you like her instantly. Her gorgeous curls, big blue green eyes, and large laugh light up any room and whenever I have been around her its been a good time. I can see why Jaime fell for her, he fell hard. So hard that the effort he put into the proposal is by far one of the most thought out, detailed, fun stories I have ever heard!! Krysten & Jaime are BFF's. They are AVID Met Fans. So where else would we do their engagement session???? Why Citi Field of course. Below are some of our favorite images that were also used in their guest book we designed for their reception. We had a blast walking all around a very empty Citi Field!

Bearce Family Fall Fun!!! & A Happy One Year Old!!

I am always so excited when I get an email from past wedding clients who's families are growing!!! Karen & Jim had their first child Logan over a year ago and to celebrate his first Birthday they wanted to do a special family session capturing all of Logan's fun personality and the closeness they have with their son!

After we set up the session date and time, we went over clothing. I always suggest solid colors for the family portrait. The off white sweater's were perfect for Fall and blend so well together that you look right at their face not the outfits ;) Karen bought a few outfits and hats for Logan and boy did he have fun in everyone of them!!! It was a great afternoon and they had so many options for wall collections of their most adorable son Logan.

Tom and I had a great time capturing your family and I look forward to seeing Logan grow through the years. Thank you again for hiring me to capture another important time in your lives. I am truly honored and happy to do so!! ;)

****Fresh out of college I came back home to NJ to look for a "photography" job. It was 1993 and I was young and excited to put all my talent to use....then I found out there weren't too many glamorous fashion photography jobs available. I even found myself at a local studio for an interview were they tested me to see if I could spot the little tiny dust spots on their clients prints...a very humbling experience. Why do you ask I give all this information and what does this have to do with Jillian and Sal's wedding????? After the "dust spot" interview. I picked up the phone book and turned to the page for photography studio's. I called the first one listed and got an interview that day. Jillian's father Ralph was the owner of that studio :) He gave me my first big photography job which is where I stayed until I opened my own back in 2000. Ralph & the other owners had faith in me and I ended up shooting over 250+ weddings for his studio, for that opportunity I have always been grateful. That was over a decade ago...and when the time came for the first of his three daughter's to get married he called me. I was flattered. I hope I did you proud Ralph.

Back to Jillian and Sal!!! :) It was one of the last beautiful October "fall" days of the season and well you actually had snow on the ground. It happened to be a record breaking fall snow storm in NJ the day before. Did you guys flinch?? Nope, not even for a second. You put on your winter boots and headed out the door. It really doesn't matter what the weather is on your wedding day when you are in love and ready to start your lives together does it? ...rescuing one dog after another...

   Yes, I am ashamed to admit...it's been many years since out last family portrait. Although Tom and I have no kids, we have Frank and well he is our kid. (dog owners understand). It is important to record times in our lives and have memories of what really is important. Family. Tom and Frank are my family. I am slightly nervous, I kind of have this awkward, cheesy weird smile...I've had it since I was a kid in all my old school portraits (right mom??). I hope it doesn't show up too much tonight. A lot of preparation when into tonight's shoot. I even got professional make-up done by someone's work I always admire: Jillyan Scarpa from Skin Bar and Paint Studio. Thank you Jillyan!!!

   Our professional photographer is : Rebecca from Photography by Rebecca. She is a dear friend of mine and we completely trust her to get some awesome portraits that we can make huge for our wall at home!! I know we are going to have fun!!!

   So here's to Tom and I, and seven years of fun!!! Happy Anniversary and lets not wait another seven to have our portraits taken!!!

Amanda and Brian have been all over the world, together. But they chose the Jersey Shore to make it official!! I couldn't agree more that they chose the perfect place for them to start the next chapter.

I was so excited and my brain was on overload because we started at one of the coolest hotels around. If you've never been to The Bungalow, check out their website above. The rooms are bright and fun (matching Amanda & Brian's personalities) :) It was a great backdrop to start their photos! So many details and planning had gone into this day. I was really impressed with Brian's custom made tux with his name embroidered inside and then Amanda's beautiful shell bouquet that arrived just days before! To top it all off Amanda's bright orange beach cruiser was the perfect prop for some fun images!

Amanda and Brian saw each other before their ceremony so we had a ton of time to have fun with their bridal party and families all while getting so many great images to remember their day. No stress at all!!

Thank you both for giving us all the time and artistic freedom. Thank you for being fun, kind, loving with each other and hanging in there even when you were a little chilly :) It was a great day!

I Love the Beach, I Love Tom Too....

The fall is my favorite time to visit the Jersey shore. A lot less crowded and a little more peaceful.

Don't get me wrong, I do like a big, fun crazy crowd to watch every now and then! But the fall spoils us with no parkway traffic, no long ice-cream lines, less dangerous bike rides on the boulevard and most importantly Frank is allowed for walks on the beach. So in between my weddings and portraits you can find me on my new Hampton Cruiser bike (Tom surprised me with), smiling huge... sometimes whistling on the boulevard somewhere down the shore....just in case you were wondering ;)

The tide recedes, but leaves behind

bright seashells on the sand.

The sun goes down, but gentle warmth

I was prepared for Julie and Mike's wedding. It was July 4th weekend down the shore. I had to be. Boy was I glad I was! Here is my crazy location map I devised to navigate the best way at the Jersey Shore!! Even the limo guy had a copy!! lol.

2 months prior...Tom and I met Julie and Mike at Liberty State Park to photograph their engagement portraits! We had such a great time along the waterfront that we shot until there was no light left! Julie and Mike are in love. For real. That made their engagement session even easier. Here's a few favs :

Back to July 2nd....We had a perfect sunny day with some awesome clouds to go along with the beach photos. Julie and Mike, you were so easy to work with!! I had so much fun with you and your rowdy, crazy cool bridal party. You were great and I appreciate all the love!! I hope someone is continuing to enjoy the turtle tube as much as the groomsmen did!! ;)

This beautiful family are my friends!!! I love them and of course when they asked me to photograph the entire group for their moms birthday I said YES!!!! Bring it on Anselmo's!! I think this portrait came out great considering all these little ones, I did have to act a little ...well a lot silly to get a few smiles. See how important it is to wear solid coordinating colors. Just perfect!! After we photographed the big group we broke it down and did all the kids!! So cute!!! Thanks guys we had a lot of fun running around for a few smiles ;)

Where do I possibly begin with the two of you!!! Let me start by saying I became a fan of Selena's right after the 4th or so email I got from her to see if I was available for her and Kristy's changing ceremony date! I'm always more than flattered when a couple picks their date "sort of" based on my availability ;) Way to win me over. We finally set up a meeting and I got to meet Kristy and then that answered the question on why Selena was so excited to get married.

With the many extremely hard obstacles the two of you have had to overcome in the past and the weeks leading up to June 12th, your day was well deserved and you celebrated perfectly in front of your close family and friends. It was my great honor to photograph you all and even more so to have become your friend. Thank you.

Norma and Bryan know how to have a great time together! They showed me that with their playfulness at our first meeting. You crazy kids you ;) It was a perfect day down the shore and we stopped at several pre- scouted locations to get some great wedding images for them. We had a fun time with you both. This is Carlos, he stayed around all day to make sure Norma's hair was perfect! He was awesome and looked really sharp in his suit ;)

Loved this blue wall and great dance moves by Norma! I scouted out this location a week prior to their wedding...I think they were shocked when we pulled up along side it. There were garbage cans on both sides of them...but they trust me, every shore wedding should have a blue wall like this one!!

Neither Bryan or Norma needed much coaching to be romantic ;)

These were taken at Mystic Island, which had miles of sandy beach when I pre-scouted it.....needless to say I didn't count on high tide!!! Oh well, we rolled with the few feet left!!!

Norma had her veil custom made and I loved photographing it!

....so today was sort of crazy. Filled with a ton of image editing, deadlines and then more image editing. All while a kitty I rescued was sleeping comfortably on my side porch, in her mini cat mansion I created! She was so small sweet and fluffy...the fluffy part is why I just could not keep her....many sneezes later I put her on Facebook and found her a great home with a cousin Mary! They came to pick her up tonight and I walked back into the house and wanted to cry.

Tom and I nicknamed him "porch kitty"

Boy do I get attached easily......

I digress.

This brings me to "client love". After the big cat adoption and feeling sad, my doorbell rings and Matt the UPS guy hands me a box and it wasn't from the photo lab but the famous Cakechef's Cookiejar in Staten Island. I thought to myself, awesome. So a huge thank you to Jen and Kirk, for their "thank you" gift to me and Tom for shooting their engagement session last week in beautiful Rutger's Garden's. You guys rock and made me feel so blessed tonight for clients as special and thoughtful as you! Thank you!

PS: I ate the coconut macaroon right away before Tom got to it! :)

Erica and Jeff are sweet. They are sweet not only with each other, but to their family, friends and me. I like that. I really like them ;) They had a beautiful day last year. I don't remember a day where the skies have been as blue as they were on Erica and Jeff's wedding day. I lot of attention by them went into all the details of their day and you can see it in their photos. Thank you both for being so sweet to work with and most of all trusting us with your wedding images!!

The other day Lynda (my assistant, designer, photographer and friend) stopped by with her son Ryan!! I couldn't resist a 8 minute photo shoot in my office!!

These images were taken on my office floor, with window light only. I used my Canon Mark 2 with an 85 1.8 lens. I shot at 2.0 to blur out the background, but made sure my focus was on his eyes!!

Vacation with Tom

If you know me at all, you know I love, love, love the beach!! We got married on the beach and took a little trip last month to the Bahamas to celebrate 6 years!!! It was wonderful, restfull and beachfull :) Here are a few of my favorite images.

Stacie, I first met you as a bridesmaid at Maria and Tony's wedding. We had a ton of fun at their wedding with you that I was so excited when you called me for yours!! As a matter of fact you sent me one of the nicest emails ever! I hope you don't mind I take a small quote from it, you said to me " I really wanted to meet with you and see if I could have you as my wedding photographer.....photography is my hobby so it is my top priority....I will cut back on flowers, my dress etc. if it means having a great photographer". Thank you Stacie for all your kind words, your love of photography and trust in me to get those ever so important wedding photos you always wanted. I am so glad you met Artie and you both have been there for each other every day since the moment you met. You are a fun, loving couple and we had a great time with you all on your wedding day!

Butterflies were a theme of the day, I loved this antique pin Stacie pinned to her bouquet.

Stacie's eyes are gorgeous!! ..and in the natural light the blue was even bluer, don't be jealous ;)

One of the best weddings ever!!! There is a list of about 50 reasons why....but I will only share a few:

- provided a police escort to those locations

- had tons of fun and enjoyed you day
- chose a small but awesome bridal party....Luisa and Peter ;)

- and your families fed us...all day...delicious food

Thank you for all this and so much more! We had a great time with you on your wedding day. This was my first time to Coney Island and it was so much fun. The weather was beautiful and the crowds were strong....but we managed to have a great time and even win a few prizes. :) The food at Gargiulos Resteraunt was unbelievable, the band rocked and so did your reception!!

No matter how busy we get sometimes you need to step away from the desk and spend time with your family.....for me its my husband Tom and the beach. That's what I choose when I need a break. Nothing like playing in the ocean at 6pm when all the life guards are gone...the sun is still warm..the water warmer. Less people and plenty of ocean!! I love my job, but I love family and life as much!!!

Take time to smell the Ocean!!

This post is long over due....I would like to blame it on the "growing pains" of my business. Thanks to you and all the unbelievable clients we have, I am must admit I am having a little trouble keeping up on the blog.... forgive me.

On to you guys: I am proud to say I passed the phone and in person interview from Audra's Father Harold. Harold, among other things is and has been a talented professional photographer for many years. Audra and I hit it off right away and have ever since. Adam was along for the ride :) Their wedding day was beautiful. We started off early....very early. But as I had my coffee in one hand and headed towards Mayfair farms, the birds were seriously chirping and continued throughout their outdoor ceremony under one of the most beautiful Chuppah's I have ever seen.

Thank you to Audra and Adam for being so completely in love and for trusting me throughout this entire experience to capture this in their photos. It was just a pleasure getting to know you and your kind and loving families and friends!

A few weeks ago I had so much fun working with one of my favorite wedding stationary designers, Stephanie Somodi of Designing the Most Inviting Day. I just love her and her designs. If I had the day to do all over, she is who I would hire for invitations for sure. She works so hard and is simply one of the sweetest gals I know in the business. Lastly I couldn't get over this one!! The starfish on the front of the invite could be taken off and worn as a necklace!!! (the chain is enclosed in a small envelope in the invitation) So cool!!!
